Greetings
And Happy New Year! I've not blogged in yonks, mainly out of laziness, but alas it is now 2011 and I am filled with joy and high expectations and creativeness (and cold and snot).
I've been reading a great book called The Happiness Project (a link to which is on the right hand side icon bar) and it encourages you to think happy, and encourage yourself to make monthly resolutions. SO I BLOODY HAVE. And I'll blog every month with more.
My main resolution is to blog more, so here is the first of what will be a year full of them.
1. Take more pictures and learn to use the cameraThe Boy has a nice Nikon SLR camera, and you know what, it turns out I'm pretty nifty with it.
I now really want a Diana lens. You've probably seen the gorgeous turquoise effect it gave pictures in snaps of your ma and pa in the olden times. The Diana itself was an old cheap camera which wasn't great at focus/light/etc but it made things look like a lovely lovely dream.
Anyway, when looking for lens I came across this book from Lomography, which was a collaboration with Colette. Uh - Diana photography + Colette? That's a hot gorgeousness sandwich right there. Mmm. Ch-Ch-Check it out.

2. Use my diary I bought a lush new diary, mainly because I have a strong feeling it will make my life perfect. It cost like £30 but whatever, it spoke to me and it said, "Helen, people will think you are very grown up when you pull out this bad boy."
I bought a Moleskine A4 diary, mmmm, I wrote my name in it and it was like the first bloody day of school. I used a nice pen. But in two weeks it will look like this:

I do however, like having a place where all my information is kept, and not on a Blackberry. I scribble in it, and do lists, and brainstorms, and its almost like a scrapbook.
3. Get that new tattoo I've wanted for ages.
This one is HOT.
Most of you will know I already have a small swallow on my wrist which I have now have had for two years, so clearly, am bored and would like a new one. I'm moving to Sydney in February (more on that in the next post) so think then will be the time for a new one.
I'm thinking some sort of aspirational beautiful French expression. I love French. I was told I was a Parisian Courtesan in a past life by a Psychic. Maybe that's why.
Anyway, I have tonnes more for the rest of the year.... such as de-clutter my wardrobe, iron my clothes, read more french, work out more, take care of myself, learn to swim well... but I suppose we'll see how I progress through the year.
a bientot for now
